A day at the park

I told you you'd have an update! Okay, so Scarlett was getting rather antsy lately, that's what happens when it rains for a few days straight. I decided it'd be fun to go to my old highschool's soccer field and play some fetch with Red Head. Little did I know it would, it got really hot out and we had to cut the play time short. I know Scarlett would of gone on forever, but I was getting worried of her overheating, so I took no chances. Before heading home, we stopped in the shade to take a short break. Day camp kids saw her and were screaming with glee, it was quite amusing. So as I promised, here are some photos from today. Sorry, I got not action shots, it's not obvious to throw a ball and take some pictures at the same time, haha.

I'm hoping to add some picture of Monkey Dog (Zoe) and Sausage (Feabs) soon into my blog. Red Head and MD get along rather fine, unless MD's in a bad mood, which happens quite often haha. Keep your eyes open for two new face here, they're getting shaved tomorrow, so I'm hoping for good pics of the pooches tonight!

SOON!

I promise you all an update soon. Just waiting for the weather to be nice enough to take pictures :D

Some sad news

Okay, so it's not devistating or horribly news, but nothing I was planning on announcing this early in the summer. Unfortunately, Scarlett's agility career has come to an end for summer 2009. We were about to embark into a new adventure, or simple a new class: Novice Agility. She completed her Beginner's class and passed with flying colours. The teachers LOVED her and wanted to see more of her, but unfortunately, the class I signed up for had to be canceled due to the lack of participation. I guess Monday classes aren't the best for everyone.

ANYWAYS, she ended up getting a ceritficate and a blue ribbon (like everyone else!) for paticipation. If only I had more time on my hands and had my drivers permit (which I've been putting off for to long now, I'm getting it soon, thank God!) we'd be able to continue. I'm sad to say that she probably won't be doing any other agility until summer of 2010, quite a sad thought.

And because I can't update you all without a photo, here's Scarlett with her ribbon :D Sorry about the horrible quality, it was done quick and dirty hahaha.

I've created a monster. Scarlett's new found love of the water hoses.

June 12th 2009

First week of summer school is over! I'm so happy, it's crazy. The amount of reading required for the class is out of the ordinary, but then again, a full college english class done in 3 weeks is something else as well.

So I sit here, on campus, where it's finally sunny and obviously I don't have anything to do. I have a video for all of you though. It's Scarlett's weaving progress, she's actually gotten the concept down, she just needs a bit of improving. If you ask me though, she's done quite well for only 3 weeks of training!

Hope you all enjoy!

Week whatever it is

Okay, so I failed... pretty badly infact. I completely forgot about the blog and I've been quite busy with life these past few weeks. I've recently been promoted at work and I'm now a proud new supervisor. I've also started summer school in order to keep up with my insane course load and to make up for the class I dropped last semester.

However, through all this crazyness, Scarlett and I have started taking agility class. Our first 5 weeks will be up as of next week and I'm hoping to have her in Novice classes afterwards. She's pretty darn good, that dog. She's currently the class "pro" according to the few teachers we have. She takes everything on like it was amazingly easy and doesn't fear a thing. Her favorites are currently the Tunnels and the Weave Poles. Yes, I did say the weave poles. She managed to grasp the concept of the weave poles extremely quickly and can now weave, pretty quickly at that, within 3 weeks of training. Sure she's still unpredictable and does a few mistakes here and there, but you have to give us time! So yeah, all I have to share with you are a few 2 week old photos and video of our agility class.

Here we just started training, it was our second day. The poles were close but not enough to get an actual weave movement out of Scarlett. She's improved a LOT since then.

The following images were taken by my mother with my tiny, point and shoot camera. Quality is horrible and focus is off. This was our second class. We were just learning the teeter, reason why there are two pause tables holding the teeter up.

And a portrait of my red monster <3
